Statement: RA MoD expects immediate intervention
The official statement of the RA Ministry of Defense The RA Defense Ministry officially confirms the information on the attacking operations initiated by the adversary along the entire line of contact between the opposing forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan on April 1 and 2 overnight. During the operations the adversary, using tanks, artillery and air force, tried to penetrate into the depth of the NKR Defense Army and occupy tactical positions. As of now as a result of the active operations by the NKR DA vanguard units the adversary was hurled back along the entire line of contact by suffering many losses. Military operations continue. The Armenian Defense Ministry strongly condemns the unprecedented aggressive and irresponsible decision of the Azerbaijani authorities to start military operations and officially announces that the continuation of these operations can lead to unpredictable consequences for the Azerbaijani side. The whole responsibility of the unprecedented tension along the line of contact between the opposing forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan lies with the Azerbaijani authorities. The RA Defense Ministry draws the attention of the international community and especially the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs on the situation and expects immediate and targeted intervention in order to keep the situation under control and avoid large-scale military operation.
