Karen Vardanyan found dead in garage (video)
Karen Vardanyan, an expert of the Union of Informed Citizens NGO, has been found dead in a garage, the police said this on Friday. Vardanyan, 34, was reported missing since March 17, the day he left home for a one-week trip to the United Arab Emirates and never returned home again. A criminal case was initiated based on Article 104 of Armenia’s Criminal Code (Murder). On Thursday evening, the police detained five suspects from the intersection of Yerevan’s Tigran Mets and Yervand Kochar avenues – Gevorg Zohrabyan (born in 1993), A. Z. (1981), H. V. (1979), A. D. (1960) and Artur Mihranyan (1973). The latter was taken to a police station from the village of Mrgashen in Kotayk marz. The investigation revealed that Artur Mihranyan and Gevorg Zohrabyan stabbed Vardanyan to his death on March 17 and hid his body in Zohrabyan’s garage in Yerevan’s Sisakyan street. Artur Mihranyan and Gevorg Zohrabyan are arrested. Investigation is under way.
