Iranian gas to border communities (video)
Gas will be supplied to the cities of Meghri and Agarak of Syunik marz. The Government today approved the project on “Construction of gas distribution network in Meghri and Agarak, two Armenian communities that border Iran.” After the Government sitting the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Levon Yolyan noted that the distributed gas will be Iranian and not Russian. But he had difficulty in saying the price of the gas, “The price isn’t known yet, when the distribution network is constructed, the price will be known.” In reply to the remark by the journalists if the gas price is very high, what the consumers must do in that case, Mr Yolyan answered, “What have they done until now without gas? We will suggest and they are to decide.” By the way, according to the timetable of implementation of construction activities, the activities are planned to kick off at the beginning of 2016 and end in 6-7 months. As for the negotiations with the Russian side over gas price, Mr Yolyan answered that the discussions are underway. To remind, the Minister had promised that all the questions would be answered by April 1.
