Chess: Hrant Melkumyan comes 3rd in Australia

After participating in an international chess tournament in Reykjavik, Armenian chess player Hrant Melkumyan participated in the Doeberl Cup, an annual chess tournament held in Canberra, Australia. Our grandmaster came 3rd among the 59 participants. He earned 7 points out of the possible 9 to share 2-3 places with Surya Ganguly of India. However, the Indian chess player took silver. IM Moris James (Australia) became winner of the tournament with 7,5 points. Hrant Melkumyan is currently preparing for the t European Individual Chess Championship 2016 to be held in Gjakova, Kosovo on May 11-24.
