New Fatality in Karabakh: Serviceman dies in military unit
The press service of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s Defense Ministry reports that serviceman Hovhannes Harutyunyan (born in 1997) received a fatal gunshot wound on March 17 after violating the rules of safe firearm handling. The incident occurred at around 5.30 pm in a military unit stationed in the southern direction. An investigation is underway to clarify the details. The NKR Defense Ministry shares the pain of the loss and expresses its support to the family, friends and fellow serviceman of Hovhannes Harutyunyan. The NKR Defense Ministry also reports that on March 17 and on the night of March 18, Azerbaijani forces fired more than 600 shots at Armenian positions. The Defense Ministry’s frontline units took punitive measures to suppress the enemy's actions.
