Nikol Pashinyan: PSRC is cringing before Bibin (video)
During the discussion on the PSRC (Public Service Regulatory Commission) program for 2016 at the Armenian National Assembly, opposition lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan said Armenians are paying 70 % more for electricity, in fact electricity rates in Armenia are the highest the in the region. Pashinyan said that in accordance with international audit, electricity bill collection reaches 94% in Armenia which is the highest index in the entire region. “Bibin has collected our money and instead of paying our companies he has now come and is blackmailing us saying our energy system will collapse as he is giving the money to companies that operate with US and Russian capital. The PSRC is cringing before Bibin and begging him not to raise the tariffs so much. This is Russian-American conspiracy; they want to drive our energy sector into bankruptcy. And now you tell us there is no need to politicize the issue!” Pashinyan said. The lawmaker wonders if the ENA has already paid off its debts to Armenian companies. "After the famous events on Baghramyan Avenue the authorities do not have the courage to come and say again that there is a financial gap and they have taken another loan of thirty million dollars. Russian and American actors are involved here and if we do not hurry and draw conclusions from this deal I am sure that Armenian people will have to raise the need of nationalization of Hrazdan TPP, Vorotan HPP and even ENA (Electric Networks of Armenia),” Pashinyan said in conclusion.
