Large sums of money were withdrawn from accounts: Central Bank confirms
The Central Bank confirms the information on the incident in one of Armenian banks and withdrawal of funds. “The Central Bank is aware of the incident in one of the Armenia’s banks and at present examinations are underway for finding out details of the incident,” the Central Bank told “A1+”. According to the preliminary information of the CB the incident isn’t a cybercrime, “It is fraud connected with card accounts of only limited number of customers.” The CB didn’t provide information about the bank and the amount of damage. To note, earlier “Aravot” website published information according to which, last night big cybercrime occurred in the Armenian branch of one of the foreign banks. Large sums of money were withdrawn from the accounts of hundreds of customers as a result of hackers’ intervention.
