Activist Vardges Gaspari transferred to Nork psychiatric hospital
Civil activist Vardges Gaspari was transferred from then Nubarashen prison to the Nork psychiatric hospital on Wednesday, Gaspari’s wife Anahit Ayvazi told A1+. Today Mrs Anahit went to the prison to see her husband and was told that Gaspari was no longer in prison. Human right activist Artur Sakunts told us from the Nork psychiatric hospital that the court had upheld the investigator’s petition to transfer the activist to the mental hospital for examination. Gaspari’s lawyers are now with him. The 59-year-old man is charged with insulting police officers Diana Vardanyan and Sona Melikyan in court in April 2014. On February 19, 2016, Gaspari was taken into custody without prior notice.
