Will electricity price fall starting from August 1? (video)
The Public Services Regulatory Commission approved the investment project of “Armenia Nuclear Power Plant” worth AMD 1.5 billion, which will be used for raising the security of the NPP and carrying out other work. After today’s sitting of the PSRC in reply to the question by “A1+”, by which credit means the project will be realized and which company will finance, A. Galstyan, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, noted that he couldn’t say which company will provide financial means. In reply to the question by “A1+”, Vice President of the PSRC Shiraz Kirakosyan didn’t rule out that AMD 1.5 billion debt of the NPP may result in the electricity price hike in the future. By July 31, 2016 as a result of the electricity price hike, Armenia’s population will have fully covered AMD 24 billion debt of the ENA. What to expect after it? Isn’t it a basis that the electricity price will fall? Mr Kirakosyan noted that the electricity price doesn’t depend only on that factor, but he didn’t rule out such a development by promising to speak about that in April.
