Ombudsman nominee is not familiar with cases of Gevorg Safaryan and Vardges Gaspari (video)
Republican-backed candidate for Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan today answered lawmakers’ questions in the National Assembly. Levon Zurabyan, Head of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction, asked Tatoyan whether he was acquainted with PACE Resolution #1900 which gives the definition of “political prisoner” and calls on its member countries to reassess the cases of any alleged political prisoners by application of its criteria “Are you going to apply Resolution #1900 as a working tool? Second, do you consider the grounds for the arrest of Gevorg Safaryan and Vardges Gaspari as valid?” said the lawmaker.
