I swear I will not resign: Ruben Hakobyan suggests adding the sentence in Ombudsman's oath (video)
A human rights defender should understand that he is doing a difficult job and know that he must not resign in any case, Armenian lawmaker Ruben Hakobyan said today. “I cannot and do not accept any of the explanations given by him [Karen Andreasyan]. Bring someone who is not afraid of anything who will not say I was beaten and threatened or the like. I do not take this seriously. You can beat or bribe a person who allows you to do it. Bring someone who will have the boldness to say that laws work in Armenia,” Ruben Hakobyan said. Ruben Hakobyan also suggests adding the words “I swear I will not resign during my tenure of office” in the Ombudsman’s oath.
