A year has passed since the police attacked members of the Centennial without the Regime movement near Berdzor during an automobile march to Karabakh. However, no one has been punished to this date for the damage caused to the opposition group. Nor have the assailants been brought to justice. On January 31, 2015, members of the Founding Parliament, a radical opposition initiative seeking a regime change in Armenia, tried to enter Karabakh in order to carry out a protest demonstration there. Near Berdzor, they were stopped by local police and masked special forces who forcefully blocked their access to the territory of Karabakh. Some of the participants, including Zhirayr Sefilyan, a former commander of the Shushi special detachment, political analyst Igor Muradyan and other freedom fighters were beaten up during the incident. Also, some vehicles of the automobile march were damaged. The group was staging series of protests against Serzh Sargsyan’s decision to join the Eurasian Economic Union.
