People catch swine flu from eating pork, says State Service for Food Safety

State Service for Food Safety of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia reports that humans cannot catch influenza A virus subtype H1N1, commonly known as swine flu, from eating pork or eating any pig-by products Considering the growing concerns in public, the Service says swine flu cannot be spread by pork products, since the virus is not transmitted through food. The name swine flu was initially used to describe this type of influenza in 2009. The symptoms of HIN1 flu virus are very similar to those of seasonal human influenza.
