How will Armenia benefit from cancellation of sanctions against Iran?
Edmon Marukyan’s Bright Armenia Party welcomes the decision to lift Western sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. “We believe that the historic agreement reached between the United State and the European Union will radically change the developments not only in the world, but also in the region, promoting peace, stability and security. The new agreement also provides an opportunity to deepen cooperation between Armenia and Iran. Iran’s active participation in regional processes can open up new economic opportunities not only for Armenia, but also for other countries in the region. Iran’s return to the global energy market will contribute to the enhancement of Armenia’s energy security and diversification of our economy. We believe that official Yerevan should demonstrate the necessary initiative to deepen ties with Iran in political, economic, cultural and other spheres,” the party said in a statement.
