EcoLur: Lake Sevan getting deprived of Martuni River water because of SHPPs (video)
Residents of Ghegharkunik marz complain that Lake Sevan is getting deprived of Martuni River water because of SHPPs. “I spent my childhood in the neighborhood of the Martuni River. The waters of the river drove away people on horseback. No water was left in the river after the construction of the SHPP. Now you can see pebbles and rocks at the bottom of the river. Nature is simply spitting in the face of people who showed unfair treatment,” said Anahit Gevorgyan, Chair of Martuni Women's Community Council.
