Sorokin: “Let’s hope that New Year will bring tangible positive shift” (video)
Azerbaijan is already firing from tanks toward the Armenian border, what can Russia do in this situation? In reply to the question by “A1+”, Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, Ambassador Andrey Sorokin noted, “I represent the OSCE and not Russia, I have difficulty in answering. Minsk Group and the personal representative of the OSCE's chairman-in-office Anzhey Kaspshik deal with the resolution of these issues. Let’s hope that New Year will bring tangible positive shift in this issue.” As for finding mechanisms for examination of incidents at the border and formation of a committee, he noted, “I hope that it will be implemented. The Armenian side always supports that proposal, and the Azerbaijani side suspends it. Let’s hope that next year that mechanism will operate.” Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan also delivered his congratulatory remarks ahead of upcoming holidays, “I want all the difficulties to remain in 2015 and I wish there would be peaceful sky over Armenia. I wish it would be possible for all of us to work peacefully for the resolution of all those complex issues.”
