Border Tensions: Three Armenian soldiers killed
Two Armenian soldiers have been killed in an act of sabotage provoked by the Azerbaijani armed forces provoked by Azerbaijan this night. After the unsuccessful incursion attempt along the eastern section of the Line of Contact on the night of December 17, Azeri commando groups initiated border infiltration attempts in the southern, eastern, northeastern and northern directions of the Line of Contact on the night of December 18. Armenian frontline units timely spotted the enemy’s advancement in all aforesaid directions and repelled another incursion attempt by Azerbaijan, forcing the enemy to run away. Azerbaijani forces incurred losses and were thrown back to their positions. The two Karabakh Defense Army servicemen who were killed in the engagement are identified as Aghasi Grigoryan (born in 1996), and Ruben Alexanyan (born in 1996). Another Armenian serviceman, Gor Ohanyan (born in 1992) was fatally wounded at 9.30 pm on December 17 while on duty in a military unit stationed in the northern direction of the frontline under yet known circumstances. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated. The Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Ministry extends condolences to the family, friends and fellow servicemen of the killed servicemen and says the enemy's provocative actions will not go unpunished, retaliation will be painful and with irrevocable losses.
