Provocation triggered during New Armenia's meeting with Kapan residents
The joint opposition headquarters of the New Armenia Public Salvation Front says a group of people regularly to tried to prevent their meeting in Kapan. “On December 16, were to meet with residents of Kapanas as part of our meetings aimed at demanding Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation and creating a government of people’s trust. A number of people headed by the advisor to the Syunik Governor and Kapan Mayor tried to thwart the meeting and trigger provocation. Dozens of police officers who seemingly kept order during the meeting showed complete inaction although the meeting participants applied to them many times, requesting them to ensure the security of the peaceful meeting,” the headquarters said.
