Republican lawmaker advises Zaruhi Postanjyan to publish the photos of backbiters and provocateurs as well (video)
Head of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction, Vahram Baghdasaryan, today responded to the statement of opposition lawmaker Levon Zurabyan who said over half a million votes were falsified during the Sunday referendum. “I see he [Zurabyan] has made great progress. At first he said, 600 000 votes were falsified, now he says the number of rigged votes is 485 000. Let us wait another week until his mathematical abilities better and he says there was no fraud at all. I say that the figures given by him do not exist and this is an attempt to delude our people,” Vahram Baghdasaryan said at the parliamentary briefings on December 11. Speaking about the ongoing protests held by the opposition, the Republican official said they were to ‘save their face’ after so many statements and appeals. In reply to Zaruhi Postanjyan’s statement that it is necessary ‘to compile and publish pictures of all vote falsifiers,’ Mr Baghdasaryan said, “"I am very glad that you the initiative belongs to the lady you have just spoken about. I would advise her to publish the photos of backbiters and provocateurs as well to complete the list.” As for the possibility of forming a coalition government with the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun, the HHK lawmaker said. “We have not discussed the issue. I repeat that the Republican Party has never avoided entering into a coalition with any force and we are ready to consider the prospect of a coalition government with all those forces that will support our programs.” In reply to our question concerning a true opposition, Mr Baghdasaryan said, “The true opposition should be constructive, capable of noticing positive and negative aspects, revealing the weak points drawing attention to them. Only in that case can we have an opposition. I see prospects that the opposition forces might unite. We shall only be happy if this happens. It is not important that they act under one flag. I do not want to give names as I do not want to insult anyone. Everyone in the opposition field is a Napoleon therefore they do not have a single opinion about electoral fraud and the fight against it.”
