Does BHK expect any reward from authorities? (video)
Armenian lawmaker Mikayel Melkumyan today got angry during the parliamentary briefings after journalists asked him about the Sunday referendum, cases of possible fraudulent voting and cooperation with the authorities. The lawmaker said he had an opportunity to visit different marzes (provinces) within the framework of the “Yes” and “No” TV show and he came to the conclusion that people do not have confidence in the government and opposition. “Vote falsifiers will be punished. If they know that one of them has been caught and punished, of course, it will reduce the risk. I cannot understand you. Have the previous elections been fair and just in our country? Is everything ideal in our country? Why are you be surprised at the results of the referendum?” he said. The lawmaker, who represents the parliamentary faction of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), was even more angry when a journalist asked him whether the BHK expected any reward from the government for ensuring the victory of the Yes vote in the Sunday ballot and whether the party expects to form a coalition government with the Republicans. “There has not been any discussion over a coalition government. We are not engaged in a trade. I am a self-sufficient man. Which rewards are you speaking about?? We are doing our job. I said whatever I meant to say,” Mr Melkumyan said.
