“Red card” newly formed movement will hold a march from the Government building to Baghramyan 26 on November 23. They will hand over an application demanding price reduction of concrete products to the Government, the National Assembly and the Presidential Palace. “We demand reduction in sugar, flour, as well as gas and petrol prices. Our economist friends have calculated the real prices, but they are much higher. We are sure that we can gain victory by struggling in the streets,” said member of the movement Paylak Tevanyan. “The people know that the prices are high, but they have to buy those products. They don’t raise this problem. For example, we know that in case of petrol, the prices of petroleum have decreased, and the price of petrol has decreased in all the countries, but here the price remained the same,” noted member of the movement Anush Baghdasaryan. Another member Varazdat Barseghyan added that sugar must cost 195 drams, but there is no such price in our country. “195 drams relates to the first sort sugar, but in our country second sort sugar is sold for much higher price than it must have been.” The members of the movement note that sugar, as many people say, is imported by a company registered in the name of wife of the NA Republican Party (HHK) lawmaker Samvel Alexanyan. “We have examined and can say for sure that 95% of sugar is imported by “Alex Grig” company, which means monopoly. And the rest 5% belongs to 46 organizations, which don’t sell it. The people don’t have an alternative, they have to buy that sugar. But we will be consistent in order to reach price reduction in this and other food-services,” highlighted Paylak.
