Thirty-nine Americans in Armenian families (video)
Thirty-nine volunteers of Peace Corps swore to spend next two years in Armenian villages and cities in order to promote the development of Armenian-American relations. The U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills says, “They are real ambassadors in Armenia. They live in Armenian communities with Armenian families. They teach English, present American business practices.” Ambassador Mills also adds, “I hope that the volunteers of Peace Corps by living in Armenian communities, communicating and learning about their customs and traditions, will tell their families in the USA about all that.” To note, Peace Corps was founded in 1961 by the US President John Kennedy. The organization aims at spreading peace in the whole world. Within the projects of the corps 200000 volunteers have served in 139 countries.
