Republicans do not think that people fall into depression because of electoral fraud (video)
A strong institution of Presidency is advantageous to political parties, Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Galust Sahakyan said today. “The republican Party is in favourable conditions today,” he said. The party refuses the institution as they want other political forces to become players in politics. Galust Sahakyan reminds that electoral fraud emerged when the country switched from a parliamentary to a presidential system. “So you need to look for reasons of today’s situation there.” Two days ago, the Minister of Diaspora said they want to weaken the Institute of Presidency because presidential elections always cause problems. Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan said a great confrontation occurs in the country after presidential elections. “I would not say that blood was shed every time but it was very difficult to restore normal life in public,” she said. Neither Galust Sahakyan nor Hranush Hakobyan thinks that society falls into depression because of electoral fraud rather than elections. “Unfortunately, we are not civilized enough to congratulate the winner of elections,” she added.
