Venice Commission approved findings of the RA Constitutional amendments
The Venice Commission unanimously approved the findings on the RA draft constitutional amendments The RA NA President Galust Sahakyan on October 23 attended the plenary session of Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, which approved the preliminary findings on Articles 1-7 and 10 and the second preliminary findings on Articles 8, 9 and 11-16 of the draft Constitutional amendments of the Republic of Armenia. The findings were prepared based on the observations of the members of the Commission Mr. Bartole, Mr. Endzins, Mr. Grabenwarter, Ms. Khabrieva, Mr. Tanchev and Mr. Tuori. Touching upon the RA Constitutional amendments, members of the Venice Commission Mr. Bartole, Mr. Endzins, Ms. Khabrieva, Mr. Tanchev highly assessed the draft Constitutional amendments and described it as a document corresponding to the international standards of democracy. The findings presented by the group of experts were unanimously approved at the plenary session of Venice Commission, which was attended by representatives from sixty countries.
