Last week, it became known that Armenia’s former Prime Minister Tigran Sarsgyan will head the Eurasian Economic Commission when Armenia assumes chairmanship of the executive body next February. The appointment has given rise to controversy in Armenia. Secretary of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) faction, Vahe Enfiajyan, does not hurry to make assessments, he only reminds that his party has criticizes the former PM many times. Secretary of the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun's parliamentary faction, Aghvan Vardanyan says Tigran Sargsyan was chosen for the post considering his experience in the field. Republican Khosrov Harutyunyan approves the candidacy of Tigran Sargsyan and says he is a very experienced professional. He does not agree with the opinion that Sargsyan is a pro-Western figure and is not suitable for the appointment.
