Iraqi Armenian family cannot afford their daughter’s operation (video)
Iraqi Armenian Susan Harutyun has lived in Armenia for 10 years. Her family moved to Yerevan during the terrible days of Iraq war. They have lived in Nor Nork hostel since 2009. “When we moved here, the situation was already bad. It took us three days to reach from Baghdad to the border of Syria, we even lay on the streets.” Mrs. Susan told “A1+”. The latter recalls the disasters, which they lived through before settling in Armenia. “My husband worked with American soldiers, then he was kidnapped, I don’t know who did it, they were Muslims, but I don’t know them. They kidnapped my husband and demanded money in return, and I gave them USD 25.000. But they had tortured my husband using electricity, they beat him.” Most of their relatives still live in Iraq. They keep in touch with them via the Internet. Susan doesn’t work. She pursues handicraft, but she is not able to sell her production. Her husband, who has disability, is an auto electrician, but he doesn’t have stable job. One of their daughters, Maral Harutyun, also has serious problems with health, but the 5-member family living on daily bread can’t afford their daughter’s operation in Germany. Details in the video
