EU Ambassador: Education sector in Armenia is at a high level among post-Soviet countries

Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan met with the newly appointed head of the EU delegation to Armenia,Ambassador, Piotr Switalski. Welcoming the guest, Mr Ashotyan congratulated the Ambassador on his new appointment and expressed hope that his work will contribute to the cooperation with the EU. The Minister of Education and Science stressed that the recent reforms in the country’s education system, stressing that the EU has rendered considerable support to Armenia in the implementation of reforms. He also stressed that the country actively participates in the EU’s two largest education projects: Erasmus, and Horizon 2020 and thanked the EU official for giving a 75 percent discount to Armenia. The EU Ambassador, in turn, noted that the ongoing education programs in Armenia are rated as effective. He added that a new EU Association Agreement is being developed, and this document will greatly highlight support to education. He said the education sector of Armenia is at a high level among post-Soviet countries . The interlocutors also underscored the continuity of cooperation.
