At the Armenia-Iran business conference, which took place in Government Reception House, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan announced that the development of means of transportation is very important for the economic relations between two countries, particularly it is about the construction of the North-South and Armenia-Iran roads. He states that the joint programs in the energy sector, in particular the construction of Meghri HPP, will promote the development of energy sector in the region, “This conference will help to discover the RA as a country of opportunities- educated, hardworking and with beneficial geographical location.” The Prime Minister also noted that in November a conference will be held in Tehran and the business sector is interested in it. The RA Minster of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan noted in his speech that the most important among the projects to be held until 2036 is the liberalization of energy market, which arises from the demands of joining the EU economy and the commitments, “The construction of Armenia-Georgia, Armenia-Iran 400 high voltage electricity transmission lines will be of much importance. And the construction of Meghri HPP will be included in the RA Energy system with initial capacity of 130 megawatts.” He also noted that the RA is ready to cooperate also in the mining industry and to support, especially when changes occur in the relevant law, which will promote investments. By the way, there weren’t favorable conditions for the journalists during today’s conference. At first, most of the journalists weren’t allowed to be present at the conference hall, but to stay in the adjacent hall, which, to put it mildly, wasn’t technically equipped. Besides, 5-10 minutes before the arrival of Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the organizers forced the journalists to enter the hall and not to leave it, as Prime Minister was coming.
