Debate: New Phase of Escalation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani Border (video)
The Armenian office of the Institute for War & Peace Reporting, in cooperationwith the Public Journalism Club and the Media Center, will hold a discussion on New Phase of Escalation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani Border and the Line of Contact. The discussion will take place at 11:00 on Wednesday, October 2, at the Media Center.
Presently, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is tense. For the first time since the signing of the ceasefire in 1994, Azerbaijan and then Armeniain response used large caliber artillery systems. As a result of military actions there are victims among both soldiers and civilians. What will be the result of the further escalation and what are the prospects of its settlement taking into account the situation in the region?
Experts Aghasi Yenokyan, Director at Armenian Center for International and Political Studies,
Manvel Sargsyan, the expert for the Armenian Center for National and International Studies will take part in the discussion.
Carnegie Endowment expert Thomas de Waal will join the discussion via a video call from London.
