Smbat Hakobyan, who was beaten up on September 21, was discharged from the hospital though he is still in pains. “Today he has had very sharp pains. Ambulance arrived, but he was unconscious, he was suffering pains. There was an impression that his bones were broken. During all these days in hospital, half of his pains haven’t been cured. It is surprising how the doctor decided to discharge him,” freedom fighter’s advocate Tigran Hayrapetyan informs “A1+”. He thinks that the safety of the freedom fighter isn’t ensured too. “On September 26 Smbat Hakobyan applied to the Head of the Investigation Department in order to take measures to ensure his personal safety. On the same day the investigator upheld the mediation and made a decision on ensuring personal safety of Smbat Hakobyan. But until now no measure has been taken by the law enforcement authorities.” The advocate pointes out the law, according to which the relevant bodies must immediately undertake implementation of protection measures. “Smbat Hakobyan’s mediation must have been taken into account not later than in 24 hours, especially when it had been upheld by the investigator. Three days have passed and Smbat Hakobyan’s safety hasn’t been ensured.” According to the advocate, Smbat Hakobyan was angry at the justification of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts for releasing Hakob Petrosyan, one of three persons who had been arrested. “The Court took into account the fact as if Hakob Petrosyan has a serious illness and cannot remain in custody. It is unclear how a person with a serious illness could take part in the beating some days ago.” Advocate Tigran Hayrapetyan considers all these to be an action against Smbat Hakobyan.
