Armenian writer and publicist Merujan Ter-Gulanyan has told his wife to prepare his military uniform in case he decides to go to the frontline. The writer says he needs to buy new military boots because the old ones are worn out. “A true intellectual is the person who stands beside soldiers,” he said today. Merujan Ter-Gulanyan thinks that the Defence Ministry should take measures to ensure that true intellectuals go and support soldiers on the frontline in this tense situation. During the press conference, journalists wanted to know the publicist’s opinion on the state honour awarded pop singer Armenchik. While the writer said he did not consider it a tragedy, he found it to be “ridiculous.” Two days ago, Merujan Ter-Gulanyan met with Culture Minister Hasmik Poghosyan who assured the writer that Armenchik’s candidacy had not been offered by her. The Minister did not reveal more details.
