Winegrowers block Yerevan-Ararat highway, demand meeting with officials
It is two hours winegrowers in Ararat marz have been blocking Yerevan-Ararat highway with trailer loaded up with grapes. They demand that the entire harvest be purchased for them. The angered villagers say they will not open the road until they talk to Serzh Sargsyan or Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan. Last week Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan announced winegrowers that the entire volume of harvest would be purchased from farmers but distilleries have refused to buy. Hovik Abrahamyan and Sergo Karapetyan have gone to the marz to talk to the winegrowers.
