Armen Sargsyan, the brother of Armenian Sparapet (Commander)Vazgen Sargsyan, also visited Yerablur Pantheon on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence. Which country did Vazgen Sargsyan dream of while fighting for Armenia’s independence? In reply to A1+, Armen Sargsyan said, “Today we do not have the independence Vazgen dreamed of but I think we need to work harder to achieve independence, fight and create. Perhaps, I am not doing the right thing for my country, therefore it is in this situation. Anyway, Armenia is a young country and we still have time to build and strengthen it and be proud of our homeland.” Speaking about the act of Vahan Martirosyan, the Armenian activist who sought political asylum in Azerbaijan, Mr Sargsyan said, “In every village there is a dog [meaning there is a traitor everywhere]. One scoundrel joined the others. I cannot understand his behaviour. Only Soghomon Tehlirian can do with him. Tehlirian was an Ottoman Armenian who assassinated the former Ottoman Grand Vizier Talât Pasha in Berlin as revenge for his role in orchestrating the Armenian Genocide during World War I.
