Ruben Hakobyan quits Heritage Party
The leader of the parliamentary faction of the Heritage Party, Ruben Hakobyan, has left a Facebook post saying he was stepping down from his position and leaving the party. “In recent times, my approaches on foreign, domestic and organizational matters of the party have differed [on principle] from that of [Heritage Leader] Raffi Hovannisian, which has made our work ineffective as a team,” Hakobyan said. “I have profound respect for Raffi and do not wish that our political differences negatively impact the Heritage party, and especially Raffi Hovanissian’s political programs. I am leaving the party and laying down my mandate as the chairman of the party’s parliamentary bloc,” he said thanking his colleagues and fellow members in the Heritage party.
