RA NA President Galust Sahakyan’s Congratulatory Address on International Day of Journalists’ Solidarity The NA President’s Congratulatory Message reads: “Dear journalists, I congratulate you on International Day of Journalists’ Solidarity. Journalists' activity has no geographical borders, at the same time journalists with their activity can sketch borders, borders of the truth and protect it with their active civic position, by force of their mind and spirit, sometimes also with their life. Trying to represent the truth to people, alas, correspondents and photojournalists fall victim in various hot spots of the planet, as well as in peaceful conditions, staying devoted to their profession and the chosen way. In the modern rapidly changing by information impact world which is often distinguished with information war, journalist’s profession is the most important and needs courage and fairness, impartiality and responsibility. Journalists with their activity are considered to be an effective means of civil society sustainability and development and active participant, and public opinion and public health, the destiny of people, states and nations depend on their served precise information and objectivity, why not the moral character. The mass media of our country is the dignified member of journalists’ international family, the inseparable part and driving force of Armenia’s civil society. Dear journalists, your restless and responsible work is demanded and necessary, expected and appreciable, in terms of viable, ensuring the progress of the state. The steps undertaken in fully ensuring the speech and human other fundamental freedoms and the decent environment created for the activities of the journalist and the media is one of the permanent priorities of the Armenian authorities as important preconditions of the vital activities of the democratic state. Once again congratulating on International Day of Journalists’ Solidarity I wish you health, optimism and successes.”
