Gaspari lay in front of Customs Service Head's room
Few in Armenia know that civil activist Vardges Gaspari is also an entrepreneur. He is the director of VAL Automation LLC which imports and distributes automation equipments and services. “Recently, I have imported from remote controls from Taiwan, but the National Security Service does not allow me to take them,” Mr Gaspari told A1+. He accounts it for Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. “Since we joined that structure, the authorization of the National Security Services required for importing coded products. It is absurd,” he said. On August 14, Vardges Gasapri applied to the NSS for authorization, but he was told to return in 15 days. “But they are artificially prolonging the process,” he said. The entrepreneur is not going to give up. This morning he went to the Customs Service where he received an “insufficient” response and lay in front of the director’s room as a sign of protest. “Several police officers showed up some time later and tried to dissuade me from lying there. An employee told me they had talked to the NSS and I could now go and submit an application. Then I was promised to be granted permission within an hour. Although Mr Gaspari went to the NSS and filled in the application, he does not believe that the problem will be solved so quickly. The businessman says three days ago he filled an online application form but today he was told at the NSS that they had not received the document. "I was given a copy of the documents, but there was no signature on them. Nor did they tell me my registration number. This shows that law enforcement officials have the psychology of a criminal.”
