Eduard Hovhannisyan: Road sings have to find drivers and not vice versa (video)

Police in Armenia plant to install more surveillance cameras and speedometers will be installed the country, Eduard Hovhannisyan, President of Achilles Center for Protection of Drivers' Rights, said at a press conference on Wednesday. He says in 2011, 311 fatal accidents were reported in the country, with 130 of the drivers exceeding the speed limit. In 2014, there were 297 fatal accidents, 140 of which were due to speed limit violations. Sixty-one of the 133 fatal accidents registered in 2015 were caused by violations of speed limits. Eduard Hovhannisyan says the number of accidents in the country has declined since the installation of surveillance cameras and speedometers [in 2012] and considers their operation justified. He concluded his speech saying, “Road sings have to find drivers and not the vice versa.”
