Tour in Gyumri via mobile phone
On July 17 Gyumri Walking Tour app will be released, which is directed to the tourists and all the visitors of the city, who want to walk in the city’s historic center. The app is intended for the smart phones operating with Android and iOS operation systems. It offers the route of the walk, the city’s maps in offline and online regimes, rich multilingual contents with texts, photos and audio materials. As Gayane Ghandilyan, the operations manager at “Digital Pomegranate”- the author company of the app, told “A1+” hereafter through the app the visitors of Gyumri will have opportunity to visit the places of interest of the city, learn about the architecture of the old city, walk in the center of Gyumri and enjoy what Gyumri offers today. The ceremony of the release of the application will be held tomorrow through the tour from Yerevan to Gyumri by train. More than hundreds of visitors and guests will take part in the tour. Information presentations will be held in a train during three hours in order to make the tour interesting. After the arrival the official opening ceremony of the application will be held at Gyumri’s railway station. After the success of Gyumri’s project “Digital pomegranate” company will offer this solution in the international market to small cities, communities, museums, galleries and other organizations, which want to develop community tourism by using innovative technological solutions. “All the citizens and communities must take into account that without mobile apps, information websites and digital campaigns it is impossible to attract the visitors and develop tourism,” informed Gayane Ghandilyan.
