Tensions rise on Baghramyan Avenue: Valeri Osipyan calls on protesters to leave Baghramyan Avenue
Deputy Chief of the Yerevan Police, Valeri Osipyan, has addressed thousands of protesters gathered on Baghramyan Avenue. “You have been closing Baghramyan Avenue illegally for over a week. The police have demontsrated tolerance, the initiative group has called on the demonstrators to unblock Baghramyan Avenue and continue the action at Liberty Square. Police will have to take actions against the citizens who remain on the avenue. Do switch off the microphone and leave the area!,” he said. He also urged journalists not to interfere with the police actions. At present, members of parliament, intellectuals, show-biz representatives and other public figures are making a human wall between the protesters and police.
