BHK: There is no other option
The Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) is concerned about the events unfolding in Yerevan in recent days. The Party says citizens of the Republic of Armenia have the right to raise their voice in protest which is envisaged by the country’s laws and Constitution. “By using force against civil activists and journalists who are carrying out their professional activities you cannot solve the major problems in the country. Violence escalates tension and reduces the possibility of solving social problems through dialogue. The Party calls on the sides to avoid steps that may lead to further escalation of tension. The peaceful protest of the recent days is a clear message to the authorities and all political forces in Armenia, which signals that the numerous social, economic and political problems [accumulated over years] need urgent solution. Our country and people need changes, progress and development. You need to develop concrete programs, start open and transparent discussions and take correct decisions. This is the only way. There is no other option,” the Party said in a statement.
