No political power to make speech from tribune during June 19 rally
“It is a social issue and everybody independent of his political ideas must join this fight in order to achieve results. It is another matter that some parties, NGOs or civil initiatives publicly announce about their future steps. Speaking publicly about joining the struggle may be a call not for finding a secret purpose or pretext, but for the supporters of those parties to join the struggle, as well as it is a call for other parties, which haven’t voiced whether they will join the struggle or not,” member of “No to plunder” civil initiative Vaghinak Shushanyan told “A1+” touching upon the statement of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) that it is going to join June 19 rally against electricity price increase. According to the words of the civil activist it is a rather welcoming and encouraging step. Activist was asked, whether there isn't a fear that the political forces’ accession to the struggle against electricity price increase will have negative influence in the sense that the struggle will lose its social role and the authorities will try to make use of the situation and the struggle will fail. “Certainly no. Except the members of “No to plunder” initiative and citizens, no member of any political party or political figure will make a speech from the tribune. And if the authorities say something like that, if they confess, it means that they confess their mistake, they accept that the people have raised fair demands. Until now they haven’t confessed it and they are trying to justify their arguments,” noted Vaghinak Shushanyan by adding that the parties will support them only with human and technical resources.
