“Each party in Turkey wants to have an Armenian” (video)
Turkologist Andranik Ispiryan personally followed parliamentary elections in Turkey. Elections passed in a very tense atmosphere. “President of the Commission was trying to cast ballots voted in favor of the ruling party into the ballot box, then it became known that Syrian refugees, who, naturally, didn’t have a right to vote, participated in the elections with the ballots voted in favor of the ruling party in advance, and even a policeman was caught, who had tried to vote for the third time. There were many such violations, but it didn’t affect the overall outcome of the elections,” noted Turkologist in the interview with “A1+”. Markar Yesayan, Karo Balyan and Selina Özuzun: these three people of Armenian nationality were also elected deputies of Turkish Mejlis. Real democratic intentions by Turkey or another formal step directed towards the international community? In this context political analyst Yervand Bozoyan notes: “The nation having population of 60.000 has three persons in the Turkish Mejlis, it means there is an atmosphere in Turkey that each party wants to have an Armenian. As a result of change of that atmosphere Turkish Parliament will be able to overcome the former complexes and change the attitude towards the Armenian issues.” Which are the steps to be expected both in the foreign and domestic policy by the Armenian deputies elected to the Turkish Parliament? “To demand from an Armenian living in Turkey that he must condemn Turks, it will be simply perceived as insanity. The Armenian Genocide will be recognized not because Markar Yesayan will speak much of it, but when the Turkish society becomes democratic,” highlights Yervand Bozoyan. Details in the video
