Senior customs inspector committed official forgery
By the criminal case investigated at RA Special Investigation Service it has been grounded that the senior customs inspector of the RegistrationsDepartment of the Vehicles Customs Clearance Specialized Customs House of RA Ministry of Finance Surik Shahbazyan, violating the requirements of point “a”, part 1, Article 207 of RA Customs Code, while executing his powers, having discovered the circumstance of handing the vehicle under customs supervision over to another person without permission of the custom authority, did not start proceedings of the case on customs rules violation. With personal motives of concealing the circumstance of not performing the above-mentioned provision of the law by him for about 2 months, on July 7, 2014 S. Shahbazyan with the purpose of concealing the offense committed by him - the fact of conveying the car to the customs house during May 2014without drawing up a respective document, drew up and submitted to the customs office a report addressed to his superior which was a false document stating that the car under customs supervision was allegedly discovered and presented at the protected area of the customs house on July 6, 2014. Note that Surik Shahbasyan was charged pursuant to part 1, Article 314 of RA Criminal Code. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case instituted on incident of committing official forgery by the senior customs inspector of the RegistrationsDepartment of the Vehicles Customs Clearance Specialized Customs House of RA Ministry of Finance Surik Shahbazyan is over at RA Special Investigation Service and the mentioned case together with the indictment is submitted to the prosecutor carrying out procedural supervision to confirm it and send to the court. Note: The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
