Parents of soldiers killed in the Armenian army under non-combat conditions have gathered near the Presidential Palace in Yerevan. A group of citizens have joined the group around the main protest site and are now standing across the street from the building. Civil activist Vardges Gaspari urged the demonstrators to go nearer to the Presidential Palace as ‘it is clownery to stand there.’ Then he told Armenian lawmaker Aram Manukyan to be the first to follow his advice.  Mr Manukyan said in reply that he had never violated any law. On May 13, a group of police officers used violence to drive the parents of soldiers who died in the Armenian army in non-combat conditions away from the gates of the Presidential Palace. The police banned the group from holding a demonstration outside the Presidential Palace.
