Inmate with type 2 diabetes continues hunger strike
Liparit Petrosyan, a member of the Founding Parliament opposition movement, continues his hunger strike in prison. Talking to A1+, Gor Ghlechyan, Spokesperson for the Penitentiary Department at the Armenian Justice Ministry, said Petrosyan’s health condition is satisfactory and he under medical supervision in a separate cell. Liparit Petrosyan started hunger strike on May 14 in protest of increasing persecution against members and supporters of the Founding Parliament and the Cassation Court’s decision to reject the appeal against unlawful actions against leader of the radical opposition Tseghakron party Shant Harutyunyan and his friends. Liparit Petrosyan, who was sentenced to five years in prison, has type 2 diabetes and other health problems.
