The Yerevan communiqué was unanimously adopted during the second day of the Ministerial Summit of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the Fourth Bologna Policy Forum in Yerevan. For the first time, an EHEA ministerial communiqué speaks about the mobility opportunities for students and staff from conflict areas, which is a crucial principle in the context of European education policy. “The document is practical and ambitious and important, considering the comprehensive nature of the education system. We appreciate the role of education in human relations, especially in conflict zone,” Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan said today. He added that Armenia passes  the baton of Bologna Secretariat to France. Armenia assumed the Bologna Secretariat by Yerevan back in 2012. It provided the Armenian higher education institutions with an opportunity to share and practice European education values and get better integrated into the process.
