Aram Manukyan, Secretary of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction, says he sees allies in the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) who can assist them in changing power in the country. “There are disagreements inside the HHK both in the government and in other state agencies,” he says.  At present, the HAK is waiting to know the fate of the controversial constitutional reforms. “We were waiting patiently until the commemorative events marking the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, but there was no reason… they are to take steps in 2-3 days. The authorities have not yet said what they are going to do next.” Mr Manukyan says the authorities fail in all their endeavors so quickly that it cannot remain unnoticed and without consequences. “Either the economy will explode, or the citizens,” he says. Stepan Margaryan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), would like his party to be in power but after the recent developments around the BHK, he would prefer to wait a little. “We are coming back to reality after recent shocks.” Mr Margaryan has not heard any accusations addressed to his party: people do not blame the BHK for thwarting the opposition’s efforts of changing change. He has only heard words of regret. “People say they were ready to come with us, but we did not hold our planned rally, but people do not say that they will not follow us,” says the BHK lawmaker. Stepan Margaryan is not particularly displeased with the acting government. “They always say, “Let us discuss bills” and always hold discussions.” The last representative of the opposition troika, Ruben Hakobyan from the Heritage faction, says ‘explosive silence is reigning in the political domain’ and advises the authorities not to be ‘too hopeful.’ “A cry is maturing under this silence and soon it will come out to the surface,” he said.
