The major events organized in the United States on the occasion of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide have wrapped up this week. U.S.-based Armenian entrepreneur and benefactor Noubar Afeyan awarded individuals and organizations that stretched out a helping hand to Armenians during the Genocide and recognized the Armenian Genocide. Among them were also the US Congress, as well as Presidents Woodrow Wilson and Ronald Reagan, US Ambassador [to Turkey from 1913 to 1916] Henry Morgenthau and Norwegian polar explorer and scientist Fridtjof Nansen My grandfather believed that the most important task in his life was to save Armenians. He would be happy to see the rebirth of Armenian people,” said Morgenthau’s grandson.
