April 24 events in Turkey: People commemorate Ottoman-era killings of Armenians
Hundreds of thousands of Armenians living in Turkey today held a march in Istanbul, the country’s leadership to recognize the Armenian Genocide, apologize to Armenians and compensate them for the heinous crime. The commemorative event was attended by Turkish intellectuals and citizens who expressed solidarity with the friendly Armenian people. April 24 events were also held in Diyarbaki, one of the largest cities in southeastern Turkey
