German President recognises Armenian Genocide
German President Joachim Gauck has called the massacres of Armenians in 1915 ‘genocide’ at an ecumenical memorial service for the Armenian Genocide victims in Berlin Cathedral.
“The fate of the Armenians is an example of the history of mass destruction, ethnic cleansing, the deportation, the genocide of the 20th century is marked in such a horrible way,” Gauck said.
